It is easier than ever to build. Ordinary Forstner bits and twist bits with a small drill press & table saw, plus common home shop tools. No machining. 2. The overall design is better. I built this machine using all new quality materials, a good quality 3 driver/425 ozin motor complete ready to use system for the higher price quoted below. You can reduce this price significantly by shopping around or using less expensive motor kits or you can spend more. It's up to you and your resources. This is a complete design package. All of the time consuming work is done for you, i.e. actual material sources and numbers, flat pattern drawings of all parts. You can start building immediately. I had all parts delivered to my door from Internet suppliers. The only gas I burned was for picking up a 5' x 5' sheet of Baltic plywood locally. Why spend several hundred dollars and a lot of your time building an inferior machine that requires a lot of fabrication and adjustment or one that is made of large unstable plastic sheets when for a few dollars more you can have a machine that will last for many years. This machine was intentionally designed with standard off the shelf quality materials and all flat pattern parts to make building and assembly easy and economical. You benefit from this extra effort by owning a quality end tool. It is redundant to claim a cutting accuracy since the stepper motors and driver software you use determine the accuracy, not the machine.
