The ACX is a general purpose, low cost, A/C micro-controller which provides adjustable speed control of conventional A/C motors in applications exhibiting a variety of load characteristics. The controller converts the fixed frequency and voltage of the A/C line supply to a sine-coded pulse-width-modulated adjustable voltage and frequency output. The power section utilizes Insulated-Gate-Bipolar-Transistors (IGBT's) operating at a fixed carrier frequency, thereby providing high starting torque and cool motor operation. The design features and programming functions of the ACX, enable the controller to be applied to numerous industrial applications.
