What is for sale: Gri T8000 thermal switch alarm temperature sensor
This listing is for 1 GRI T8000 Thermal Switch Temperature Sensor. It is brand new in its original packaging and comes with mounting screws and excess wire.
For those property owners who are concerned about frozen water pipes bursting, fluctuating greenhouse temperatures, vacation homes in cold climates or any unattended structure where a fixed temperature is crucial, the GRI T8000 series of fixed temperature sensors provides the proper protection. The T8000 series can be used in computer rooms, walk-in coolers, and similar places where the monitoring of temperature is needed.
Prior to connecting the temperature sensor determine the monitoring application. Is the temperature above or below the trip temperature? Now make the appropriate connection to your alarm control panel as an open and closed loop for detections. Here’s why.
The sensors are pre-set with a trip temperature. When the ambient temperature goes below the trip temperature, the switch configuration will change. Is your application monitoring a cold environment to warn you of a heating condition or are you monitoring a warm environment with a warning of colder temperatures?
Look at the installation notes and Electrical Specifications for exact information on the sensor you have selected to determine if it is OPEN or CLOSED.
Here are the Installation Notes:
The T8000 Thermal Switch is normally closed below its trip temperature and normally open above its trip temperature. When the normal ambient temperature in the monitored area is above the trip temperature of the T8000 switch (32*F), it must be connected in an open circuit alarm loop. When the normal ambient temperature in the monitored area is below the trip point of the T8000 switch (32*F), it must be connected in a closed circuit alarm loop.
