What is for sale: Gri T8005 thermal switch alarm temperature sensor
This listing is for 1 GRI T8005 Thermal Switch Temperature Sensor. It is unopened in its original packaging and comes with a mounting screw and 6" of attached wire.
For those property owners who are concerned about frozen water pipes bursting, fluctuating greenhouse temperatures, vacation homes in cold climates or any unattended structure where a fixed temperature is crucial, the GRI T8000 series of fixed temperature sensors provides the proper protection. The T8000 series can be used in computer rooms, walk-in coolers, and similar places where the monitoring of temperature is needed.
Prior to connecting the temperature sensor determine the monitoring application. Is the temperature above or below the trip temperature? Now make the appropriate connection to your alarm control panel as an open and closed loop for detections. Here’s why.
The sensors are pre-set with a trip temperature. When the ambient temperature goes below the trip temperature, the switch configuration will change. Is your application monitoring a cold environment to warn you of a heating condition or are you monitoring a warm environment with a warning of colder temperatures?
Look at the installation notes and Electrical Specifications for exact information on the sensor you have selected to determine if it is OPEN or CLOSED.
Here are the Installation Notes:
The GRI T8005 Thermal Switch is a very simple device designed to work in a closed loop system when used to monitor temperatures above 40*F. When the temperature drops below 40*F, the switch will open. Conversely, when the temperature of the area to be monitored normally is lower than 40*F, the switch will be open, with an increase of temperature above 40*F to close the contacts.
Review. When the temperature in the monitored area is above 40*F, the switch is closed and opens when the temperature goes below 40*F. When the monitored area is lower than 40*F, the switch is open and will close when the temperature rises above the 40*F.
