This is the first of a 2-part series of Carbon Comp Resistor kits offered by NightFire Electronic Kits. This kit is made of 29 different values of pure Carbon Composition leaded resistors. The low range of resistance is from 2.7 Ohms to 56K Ohms. The majority of the resistors are 1/2 Watt with some 1 Watt included. These are the type of resistors that are used in great Audio Circuits. Carbon Comp resistors exhibit different electrical characteristics than do Carbon Film or Metal Film resistors. These characteristics introduce a type of audio distortion which is very pleasing to the human ear. Its what gives Tube Amps a great sound and its what makes these resistors expensive. Use them to restore tube amps and other high-quality audio circuitry, as well as, in any of your applications where heat and power dissipation are a concern. These resistors are all NOS (New Old Stock) which means they are of the vintage you need for your audio equipment. Each resistor has long leads approximately 1.5 inches long on each end. They are all at least 5% tolerance except for 2 values which are 10%. The resistors come in a handy plastic container for easy storage and access. This is a good chance to build up your Leaded Resistor collection. We supply the parts, you supply the ingenuity.
