great table that has an upper and a lower slide platen that each ore servo or stepper controlled and have position encoders built in also. I forgot now but when i looked into the microE things i thought they were BLDC linear motors. but anyway the plates both slide between 8 to 10 inch back and forth one over the other. there is a hole in the bottom of the flat plate where a laser would write to the bottom side. each table platen has an insert about 8 x 8 that would hold the parts and has a recess of 3/16 to clear the other plate when sliding.Precision ball bearing linear slides guide the traverse of the top and bottom plate. whole thing is approx 15 x 20 and weighs 50 lbs
