WITH THE ADDITION OF 1 EXTERNAL PNP TRANSISTOR THE PARTS OUTPUT CURRENT IS RAISED TO THAT OF THE PNP TRANSISTOR USED. WE USE A MMBT2907A FOR UP TO 500Ma BUT A GP MMBT3906 COULD BE USED FOR 250Ma THESE ARE USED BY US IN A FEW OF OUR PRODUCTS FOR THE POWERING OF THE FUJITSU LINE OF HIGH SPEED, FAST LOCKING, VERY LOW CURRENT, PLL RF SYNTHESIZERS. THE ONE WE USE THESE WITH IS THE MB15E07 2.5GHz PART. THEY OPERATE DOWN TO 3VDC @ 10Ma MAX CURRENT. THEY WILL OPERATE FROM 2.7-3.6VDC BUT THE HIGHER THE Vcc THE LOWER THIER CURRENT DRAW, THEY ALSO ALLOW UP TO 5V TO POWER THE CHARGE PUMP! THIS ALLOWS FOR THE PLL'S TUNING VOLTAGE TO SWING FROM 0 TO 5VDC. I'M USING A SHOTTKY DIODE IN SERIES BETWEEN THE REGULATOR'S OUTPUT & THE PLL CHIP Vcc PINS PLUS I ALSO HAVE A 3.6VDC LITHIUM BATTERY USED TO KEEP EVERY AS IT WAS SET TO IN CASE OF A POWER OUTAGE AKA CHANGING THE UNIT'S BATTERYS! REGULATORS WILL COME STILL ON THE TAPE AS REMOVED FROM THE ORIGINAL MNF'S 7" REEL. THESE PARTS ARE NEW OLD STOCK!
